Laser Label Setup Instructions
The following instructions can be used to set up a template in Microsoft Word (or excel for the CMBO-1000). Right click and save as. All instructions are in PDF format.

Direct Thermal Tough/Cryo-Tag Setup Files
For PC Users
At this time the version 8.0 of the Dymo LabelWriter software does not support custom paper/label sizes and version 7.8 of the software must be installed. The install file located below will automatically install the proper software and drivers needed to print Direct Thermal Tough/Cryo-Tags. Please note, Direct Thermal Tough-Tags are NOT compatible with the LabelWriter 450 model. If you have this model, please order Direct Thermal Cryo-Tags. If you need to simply update a previous installation, please contact customer service to determine what files you may need.
Installer For DivBio Dymo Software
Step One: Right click and "Save as" to download the file.
Step Two: Find the file and double-click to open the zip file.
Step Three: In the window you opened, double-click the DivBio.exe file.
Step Four: Once the installer has finished, exit and run the Dymo Label Software Update.
Step Five: Plug your printer into the USB port.
You're now ready to run the Dymo LabelWriter Software!
Starting a new label
Step One: Open the software and click on File>New
Step Two: In the "New Label" window select "All" in the "Show" box at the bottom.
Step Three: Scroll through the options and select the appropriate label.
Step Four: Click on the text box and enter your text. Some adjust and additional text boxes may be needed.
Individual PC Files
These files are available for users who need to update existing installations. Contact customer service if you feel your definition file is out of date or if you recently upgraded to a 450 model.
Labels.def - Label definition file for PC users - Right click and save. Then unzip to the following folder on your computer - C:/Program Files/Dymo Label
Dymo Label Software Update - This registry update will allow a LabelWriter 450 model to work with DLS 7.8. For PC users - Right click and save as.
For MAC Users
*****Dymo LabelWriter 450 & 450 Turbo Users*****
Diversified Biotech labels will work with the Dymo LabelWriter 450 and 450 Turbo but an earlier version of the software has to be used. Following are instructions to guide you through the setup process. These instructions will help you install version 7.8 of the Dymo software and provide you with the files needed to allow the software to recognize LabelWriter 450 printers. See the files listed below.
Installing version 7.8 and the proper Dymo Labelwriter 450 drivers:
1) Insert the CD provided by Dymo (v. 8.0)
2) Run the software installation (Proper drivers are installed)
3) Download, unzip and install the DLS 7.8 software below
4) When prompted to delete the “Current” and “Resource” folders, select delete (this writes v 7.8 over v 8.0)
5) Click "Next" again and un-check "Yes, I want to install DYMO file now," click "Next" and "Finish".
6) Download, unzip and save the labels.xml and DYMOLabelSettings.xml (file below) to the main Dymo folder [Applications\DYMO Label]. You will be asked if you want to overwrite the existing files, click "Yes"
7) Download and unzip the appropriate zip file below and double click the .REG file to update the registry
If you have already installed the Dymo LabelWriter 450/450 Turbo and version 8.0:
Follow the instructions above starting with Step #3.
MAC Files:
Labels.xml - Label definition file for MAC users - Right click and save to the following folder on your computer - Applications/Dymo Label
DYMOLabelSettings.xml - Printer definition file for MAC users - Right click and save to the following folder on your computer - Applications/Dymo Label
Dymo Label Software version 7.8 - Right click and save as. Then unzip and install.
*****For Dymo LabelWriter 400 & 400 Turbo Users who purchased DTCR labels with a VERTICAL orientation*****
DivBio recently updated the formatting of our Direct Thermal Cryo-Tags to comply with changes in the LabelWriter. If you have used our labels in the past, but have just received labels with a vertical orientation, you will need to update your Labels.xml file. No additional changes to the software need to be made. The updated file will allow your current setup to utilize the new layout.
